Over the past few days, the U.S. Semiconductor Industry Association (SIA) released the latest statistical data on the global semiconductor device market on its official website. According to the latest information, the global market size in May reached $120.6 billion, representing a month-on-month increase of 9.2% and a year-on-year surge of 104.3%.
I immediately updated my prosperity data table (see the chart below). As shown in the chart, the high-speed growth momentum over the recent period has continued, with no signs of weakening for the time being.
In terms of regional distribution, each region has basically maintained its previous trend, with no significant changes in the overall landscape.
The data for May significantly exceeded my previous projections, compelling me to raise my forecast for the full-year trend once again. Based on my recent estimates, the global IC (Integrated Circuit) market size for the entire year of 2026 will reach $1,505 billion, up 96% from 2025, nearly doubling.
Meanwhile, the IC market size in mainland China will reach $400 billion in 2026, a year-on-year increase of 90%.

It is evident that the primary driving force behind this surge in the IC market stems from the better-than-expected demand for upstream compute chips and memory chips fueled by the rapid expansion of the AI (Artificial Intelligence) industry. Therefore, the global giants in these related chip sectors are undoubtedly reaping the most benefits at present. This time, I have specifically compiled the revenue data of the world's top three compute chip and memory chip suppliers for your reference.
Top Three Compute Chip Suppliers: Charts sourced from the "Quarterly Report on Prosperity of the Semiconductor IC Industry"
Nvidia: In Q1 2026, Nvidia's total revenue reached $81.6 billion, a substantial year-on-year increase of 85.2%. Moreover, looking at the last three quarters, this growth momentum appears to be accelerating. Additionally, the gross margin has basically been maintained at around 75%.
Intel: Intel's revenue for the same period was $13.6 billion, a modest year-on-year increase of 7.2%. However, its gross margin is close to 40%, showing a significant improvement compared to the previous few quarters.
AMD (Advanced Micro Devices): AMD's development trajectory falls exactly between the two aforementioned companies -- its Q1 revenue was $10.3 billion, a year-on-year increase of 37.8%. Additionally, its gross margin of 52.8% is precisely close to the average of the other two.
Top Three Memory Chip Suppliers: Charts sourced from the "Quarterly Report on Prosperity of the Semiconductor Memory Industry"
Samsung: Samsung's memory performance in Q1 was exceptionally strong. Its total Q1 revenue from DRAM and NAND products reached as high as $51.1 billion, up 96% quarter-on-quarter and 289% year-on-year. Moreover, this momentum is highly likely to be sustained throughout this year.
SK Hynix: Initially leveraging its first-mover advantage in HBM (High Bandwidth Memory), SK Hynix's DRAM revenue once surpassed Samsung's in a certain quarter to become the global leader. However, it has currently been significantly overtaken by Samsung again. In Q1 2026, its total revenue from DRAM and NAND businesses was $35.7 billion, a year-on-year increase of 200%.
Micron: Since Micron's fiscal quarter is one month ahead of other companies, its latest financial report has currently been updated to Q2 (March to May). Its Q1 total revenue from DRAM and NAND was $23.8 billion, a year-on-year increase of 198%. The Q2 figure reached $31.3 billion, up another 73.6% from Q1. Micron's data essentially foreshadows the trend of the entire memory market in Q2. The growth rates of Samsung and SK Hynix are likely to be quite similar.
