Giantec Semiconductor: A Veteran in Memory, a Newcomer in AI

by caoshuncheng·August 26, 2026

Amid the fluctuations of the semiconductor cycle, memory chips are undoubtedly one of the most resilient sectors. Following the impressive results delivered by industry leaders, Giantec Semiconductor, another STAR Market-listed company deeply engaged in the NOR Flash field, has achieved a remarkable leap in performance in the first half of 2026, leveraging the industry tailwinds and its own strategic layout.

From Loss to 140 Million RMB in Profit

On August 25, the 2026 semi-annual report released by Giantec Semiconductor showed that the company achieved a revenue of 528 million RMB in the first half of the year, a year-on-year surge of 203.2%; the net profit attributable to shareholders of the parent company reached 140 million RMB, achieving a strong turnaround from a loss of 70.78 million RMB in the same period last year.

The core driver behind this transformation is that the memory chip industry is currently in the upward phase of a new prosperity cycle. The simultaneous increase in volume and price, driven by tightening market supply and demand, has directly promoted the expansion of the company's revenue scale and a significant growth in its overall gross profit margin. In the second quarter alone, the company's revenue reached 309 million RMB, and the net profit attributable to shareholders of the parent company reached 91 million RMB, demonstrating a strong acceleration in profitability.

Business Portfolio

From the perspective of business structure, Giantec Semiconductor has formed a diversified layout dominated by memory chips, supplemented by MCUs (Microcontroller Units) and AI chips. By product, NOR Flash memory chips remain the absolute mainstay.

Data for the first half of 2026 shows that NOR Flash products contributed approximately 86% of the operating revenue, serving as the core source of profit. The company's NOR Flash products cover capacities from 1Mb to 512Mb and have fully transitioned to the advanced 5Xnm process node. Some products have passed the AEC-Q100 automotive-grade certification, demonstrating competitiveness in power consumption, reliability, and stability.

The MCU business accounts for about 13%. Based on the Arm Cortex-M0+ core, it mainly targets the 32-bit general-purpose market. Although the scale is still small, it has become an important supplement to the company's diversified layout.

Breakthroughs in AI and High-Capacity Memory

In addition to the traditional memory business, Giantec Semiconductor's progress in the fields of AI chips and high-capacity memory is equally noteworthy.

The company has extended its business reach to AI SoC (System on Chip) chips, AI algorithm models, and AI module boards, focusing on three major directions: smart home, smart wearables, and generative AI. At the AI implementation level, the company is taking AIGC (AI Generated Content) toys as an entry point, utilizing offline voice algorithms to maintain its first-mover advantage, while also paying attention to the local deployment needs of small language models.

The high-capacity memory business is also accelerating its layout. The company plans to expand capacity coverage in its niche NAND Flash and eMMC product lines, completing the 4GB to 256GB product portfolio. Target markets include smart TVs, set-top boxes, tablets, and networking equipment. In terms of DRAM, the company is advancing the R&D of DDR5 and LPDDR products, striving to build a full range of niche memory product portfolio combining volatile and non-volatile memory, thereby enhancing customer stickiness.

Summary

For Giantec Semiconductor, the first half of 2026 is an excellent report card of turning the tide from adversity. Supported by the industry's prosperity, its traditional NOR Flash business provides a solid foundation for performance; meanwhile, the strategic layout of AI business and high-capacity memory opens up broader imagination space for the company's growth.
