Divergent Performance Across Chinese SiC/GaN Players in Q3: AI Power Supply Becomes Key Driver

by hangjiashuosandaiban·November 3, 2026

Recently, Sanan Optoelectronics, CR Micro, Yangjie Technology, StarPower Semiconductor, and five other companies related to third-generation semiconductors successively released their Q3 2026 financial reports, disclosing operational results for the first three quarters and the latest progress in SiC and GaN businesses.

Sanan Optoelectronics: Revenue Exceeds CNY 10 Billion in First Three Quarters

Sanan Optoelectronics achieved revenue of CNY10.039 billion in the first three quarters of 2026, a year-on-year decrease of 27.34%; net profit attributable to shareholders was a loss of CNY 120 million. The company stated that the revenue decline was primarily due to adjustments in the business model for precious metal scrap recycling. Excluding this factor, revenue on a comparable basis increased by 9.77% year-on-year.

In terms of profitability, revenue from high-end LED products increased, and the optical technology business turned profitable; however, the profitability of the filter and power electronics businesses has not yet improved.

CR Micro: Net Profit Grows 86% in First Three Quarters

CR Micro achieved revenue of CNY 9.491 billion in the first three quarters of 2026, up 17.62% year-on-year; net profit attributable to shareholders reached CNY 977 million, an increase of 85.95% year-on-year.

In the third quarter, CR Micro's revenue was CNY 3.362 billion, up 17.94% year-on-year; net profit attributable to shareholders was CNY 255 million, up 36.45% year-on-year. The company attributed this growth to strong downstream demand from AI and high-performance computing, resulting in sufficient orders, full capacity utilization, and higher product prices.

Yangjie Technology: SiC Business Revenue Grows Over 100%

In the first three quarters, Yangjie Technology achieved revenue of CNY 7.183 billion, up 34.31% year-on-year; net profit attributable to shareholders was CNY 1.233 billion, up 26.67% year-on-year. Third-quarter revenue reached CNY 2.668 billion, up 40.93% year-on-year.

The announcement noted that benefiting from continuous capacity release and accelerated customer adoption, Yangjie Technology's SiC business revenue grew by more than 100% year-on-year in the first three quarters, with growth rates accelerating each quarter. Additionally, revenue from automotive and AI data center businesses both increased by over 100% year-on-year, driven by rising NEV penetration, accelerated domestic substitution, growing AI computing demand, and deepened customer collaborations. Notably, customer certification and sample introduction for multiple AI data center products are progressing steadily.

StarPower Semiconductor: Continues GaN HEMT R&D

StarPower Semiconductor achieved revenue of CNY 3.084 billion in the first three quarters of 2026, up 3.17% year-on-year; net profit attributable to shareholders was CNY 95.0969 million, a decrease of 75.10% year-on-year.

StarPower Semiconductor stated that its wholly-owned chip manufacturing subsidiary, Jiaxing StarPower Microelectronics, has gradually put multiple product lines into production but remains in the capacity ramp-up phase, leading to higher operating costs. Depreciation expenses in the first three quarters increased by CNY 124 million year-on-year.

In terms of R&D, StarPower Semiconductor continues to advance the development and customer validation of GaN HEMTs, automotive-grade MCUs, DrMOS, and other products. R&D expenses in the first three quarters increased by CNY 38.6285 million year-on-year.

MACMIC: Q3 Revenue Grows 46.49%

MACMIC achieved revenue of CNY 1.182 billion in the first three quarters of 2026, up 20.19% year-on-year; net profit attributable to shareholders was CNY 3.4084 million, down 36.48% year-on-year. In the third quarter, MACMIC achieved revenue of CNY 444 million, up 46.49% year-on-year; net profit attributable to shareholders was a loss of CNY 577,300.

MACMIC explained that the Q3 revenue growth was mainly driven by increased orders, while the decline in net profit was primarily due to losses at key subsidiaries. It is also worth noting that MACMIC's R&D investment in the first three quarters reached CNY 106 million, an increase of 21.45% year-on-year.

Hoshine Silicon Industry: Turns Profitable in First Three Quarters

Hoshine Silicon Industry achieved revenue of CNY 14.717 billion in the first three quarters of 2026, down 3.21% year-on-year; net profit attributable to shareholders was CNY 434 million, turning from a loss to a profit compared to the same period last year. In the third quarter, revenue was CNY 4.557 billion, down 16.09% year-on-year; net profit attributable to shareholders was CNY 110 million, up 45.36% year-on-year.

Hoshine Silicon Industry attributed the profit improvement mainly to rising selling prices of organic silicon products, as well as increased industrial silicon output and lower costs.

Jingsheng Mechanical & Electrical (JSG): SiC Substrate Business Achieves Profitability

JSG achieved revenue of CNY 5.414 billion in the first three quarters of 2026, down 34.56% year-on-year; net profit attributable to shareholders was CNY 283 million, down 68.65% year-on-year.

According to the announcement, in the SiC business segment, JSG's SiC substrate capacity has reached 60,000 wafers/month, with steady growth in revenue and gross margins, achieving profitability in the third quarter. Meanwhile, the company continues to advance its domestic annual production project of 900,000 SiC substrates and the commissioning of its Malaysia factory, gradually forming a dual-base layout covering domestic and overseas production.

In terms of equipment, JSG has received customer orders for its 8–12 inch SiC epitaxy equipment, thinning equipment, and activation furnaces sequentially. Validation of new products such as SiC oxidation furnaces and ion implantation equipment is proceeding in an orderly manner. As of September 30, 2026, the uncompleted contract value for JSG's integrated circuit and compound semiconductor equipment exceeded CNY 5.6 billion (including VAT).
