Recently, Viewtrix Tech issued a voluntary announcement stating that the company has established two holding subsidiaries: Shuqing Zhiyun (Shanghai) Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as 'Shuqing Zhiyun') and Xinqing Zhiyun (Shanghai) Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as 'Xinqing Zhiyun').

The new companies will respectively undertake two major new businesses: optical interconnect and UCIe IP, extending Viewtrix Tech's business footprint from display driver ICs to the AI computing interconnect field.

The announcement shows that the registered capital of both subsidiaries is CNY 10 million each, with Viewtrix Tech holding a 55% stake in each.

Among them, Shuqing Zhiyun is the operating entity for the optical interconnect business, focusing on the Micro-VCSEL light source technology route. It aims to become a comprehensive solution provider for Optical I/O, focusing on the two major fields of Scale Up (intra-rack interconnect) and Scale In (inter-chip interconnect). Xinqing Zhiyun is the operating entity for the UCIe IP business, taking cross-standard UCIe interconnect IP licensing as its entry point, and plans to develop into a platform-based IP company in the future.

In terms of financing, both subsidiaries are currently advancing private equity financing in the primary market, but they are still in the negotiation and due diligence stage. The final implementation is subject to the signing of a formal capital increase agreement and the fulfillment of precedent conditions, which involves uncertainties.

Viewtrix Tech's layout of the two new businesses is closely related to the changes in chip interconnect demand and relevant technology development trends.

The announcement points out that as AI, cloud computing, high-performance computing, and advanced packaging technologies evolve rapidly, the demand for high-speed inter-chip interconnects continues to rise, making on-chip optical interconnects and Chiplet interconnects one of the important development directions in the semiconductor industry. Among them, as an important light source technology route for on-chip optical interconnects, Micro-VCSEL features low power consumption, low cost, and ease of 2D array integration, showing great application potential in short-distance optical interconnect scenarios.

Meanwhile, the development of Chiplet interconnects has also brought about the demand for interconnect standards. The open chiplet interconnect standard UCIe is expected to promote the standardization and scaled application of the Chiplet ecosystem.

Adapting to the new development trends, the layout of the two new businesses, optical interconnect and UCIe IP, is precisely the strategic choice made by Viewtrix Tech to seize industry opportunities, expand its business footprint, and cultivate new growth drivers.

Public information shows that Viewtrix Tech was founded in 2012 and is headquartered in Shenzhen. Its founder, Gu Jing, holds bachelor's and master's degrees from Tsinghua University, and a Ph.D. in Engineering and Applied Science from Harvard University.

The company has long focused on the OLED display driver IC field, and its products currently mainly cover AMOLED display driver ICs and Micro OLED silicon-based display driver backplane ICs.

It is reported that the downstream application terminals of the company's AMOLED display driver ICs are smartphones, while the main downstream application terminals for the Micro OLED silicon-based display driver backplane ICs are smart head-mounted devices such as VR/AR.

Data from Frost & Sullivan shows that in terms of sales volume in 2024, Viewtrix is the world's fifth-largest and mainland China's largest AMOLED display driver IC vendor; in the Micro-OLED display backplane/driver field, it ranks second globally with a 40.7% market share.

Currently, Viewtrix Tech's products cover more than ten smartphone product series. Its core customers collectively account for over a quarter of the global smartphone market share, making it the first domestic supplier to complete certification by top-tier brand customers and achieve shipments in the tens of millions.

In terms of business structure, in 2025, AMOLED display driver ICs contributed revenue of approximately CNY 800 million, accounting for 72.6%; Micro-OLED display backplane/driver revenue reached CNY 296 million, accounting for 26.7%, a substantial year-on-year increase of 294%, and has grown into the second growth curve.

In terms of performance, the company's operating revenue increased from CNY 551 million to CNY 1.106 billion from 2022 to 2025. The net losses were CNY 124 million, CNY 232 million, CNY 309 million, and CNY 230 million, respectively, and it has not yet achieved profitability; in 2025, the overall gross profit margin increased to 12.9%.

The latest semi-annual report shows that in the first half of 2026, the company's revenue was CNY 318 million, a year-on-year decrease of 30.5%, with a net loss of CNY 151 million, mainly affected by the decline in sales revenue of AMOLED display driver ICs. The main business is still in the ramp-up period, which may be the realistic background for the company to accelerate the layout of new businesses.

This also marks another business expansion by Viewtrix Tech following its intensive moves in the capital market.

On May 27 this year, Viewtrix Tech officially listed on the Main Board of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, becoming the 'first mainland OLED display driver IC stock,' raising approximately HKD 1.1 billion to support the R&D and optimization of AMOLED TDDI ICs, Micro OLED, and Micro LED display driver backplanes.

On June 18, all over-allotment options were exercised; on August 21, it was included in the Hang Seng Composite Index constituent stocks, and on September 7, it was added to the Stock Connect.

On September 2, the company signed an A-share listing tutoring agreement with GF Securities, and on September 10, it completed the tutoring filing registration with the Shenzhen Securities Regulatory Bureau, restarting the process of returning to the A-share market—previously, the company had submitted a listing application to the SSE STAR Market in 2023, which was later withdrawn.

Viewtrix Tech stated in the announcement that by establishing independent operating entities, it can focus more on promoting related technology R&D, productization, and market expansion, accelerating business development and enhancing the overall competitiveness of the group.
