VeriSilicon Unveils Silicon Platform as a Service Strategy for Embodied Robots and AI Terminals at electronica China 2026

by xiazhen·July 3, 2026

On July 3, 2026, during electronica China, the "Embodied Robot Special Topic Technical Seminar" hosted by VeriSilicon was successfully held at the Kerry Hotel in Shanghai.

Dr. Wayne Dai, Chairman, CEO, and President of VeriSilicon, attended and delivered a keynote speech. He provided an in-depth analysis of the opportunities and practical challenges faced by embodied robots and AI terminals driven by the "AI + Consumer" policy. Meanwhile, he revealed VeriSilicon's unique positioning and growth logic in the AI ASIC wave as a "product-free, pure-service" chip design platform.

"Rational Reflections" Amid the Policy Tailwinds

The implementation opinions released by the Ministry of Commerce and seven other departments in June 2026 shift the focus of AI from industrial technology support to stimulating domestic consumer demand, with humanoid robots, AI glasses, and smart home devices listed as key directions.

Dr. Dai pointed out that although home services represent the ultimate scenario for humanoid robots, the thresholds for safety, cost, and reliability are extremely high, and large-scale deployment is not expected until after 2028. Comparing this with the current industry status, he noted that while the "cerebellum" motor control demonstrated by Unitree Robotics at the Spring Festival Gala was stunning, the "brain" still has shortcomings in cognitive decision-making.

He emphasized that the industry is currently in a critical transition period from Lv2 (demonstration) to Lv3 (stable task delivery). He even joked about his observations in London, where a robot on stage required five people to "back it up," highlighting the gap in technological maturity.

From "Reading Ten Thousand Books" to "Traveling Ten Thousand Miles" and "Meeting Countless People"

Discussing the path of technological evolution, Dr. Dai used the Chinese proverb "read ten thousand books, travel ten thousand miles, and meet countless people" to elaborate on the iterative levels of AI.

He believes that current large language models solve "reading ten thousand books" language-related problems, whereas embodied AI must advance toward "traveling ten thousand miles" physical AI and spatial world models by collecting data in real-world environments. Going a step further involves "meeting countless people" for emotional and complex scenario understanding, which is currently the most lacking part of the technology.

He pointed out that wearable devices such as AI glasses will be key entry points for collecting physical and perceptual data in the future, and their commercialization is ushering in an explosive window alongside subsidy policies.

Elon Musk's Assertion and VeriSilicon's "No Direct Benchmark" Path

In his speech, Dr. Dai quoted Elon Musk's recent assertion: "China will be the biggest competitor in the humanoid robot market." He considered this evaluation to carry significant weight.

On the capital market front, he mentioned that VeriSilicon's stock price has surged by a cumulative 1263.65% since the end of September 2024, far outperforming the S&P index and the STAR 50 index. Facing market analogies of "China's Broadcom" or "China's ARM," Dr. Dai clarified that VeriSilicon has no direct benchmark company. Its model is Silicon Platform as a Service, without white-labeling or proprietary products; both IP licensing and turnkey customization services serve customers' chips. With the explosion in cloud-side AI ASIC customization demand, the company's backlog of orders continues to hit record highs, with the vast majority of newly signed orders in 2026 coming from this field.

He emphasized, "When the tide rises, all boats are lifted; when we do well, everyone does well. Our chips are other people's chips, and our IP is for others to use. This is VeriSilicon's philosophy of survival."
