SST Industrialization Accelerates: Sungrow’s Certified EnerNeo SST Enters NVIDIA AI Factory Ecosystem

by hangjiashuosandaiban·October 22, 2026

Recently, Sungrow Power showcased its Solid State Transformer (SST) at the 2026 OCP Global Summit, with two notable signals:

First, Sungrow Power exhibited in the NVIDIA MGX AI Factory Ecosystem zone this time, indicating that it has become a member of the NVIDIA ecosystem;

Second, during the exhibition, Sungrow Power's SST product obtained TUV Rheinland certification, simultaneously passing both European and American standard system-level dual certifications.

Viewed from the perspective of the overall SST industry, these two moves mean that the prerequisites for product scaling are rapidly coming together - leading manufacturers are accelerating their SST layout, and the reliability certification system is also steadily improving. As these two "key steps" are implemented, the industrialization window for SST is opening rapidly.

01 Sungrow Power Announces Two Major Moves, SST Products Have Achieved Delivery

On October 14, Yangguang Yuanzhi, a subsidiary of Sungrow Power, announced that it was invited to showcase in the NVIDIA MGX AI Factory Ecosystem zone, presenting a range of core components of the EnerNeo SST, covering medium-voltage and low-voltage power modules as well as high-frequency transformers.

Yangguang Yuanzhi stated that relying on SiC high-frequency power electronics technology, the EnerNeo SST can convert 10kV-13.8kV medium-voltage AC to 800V DC, with a system efficiency of 98.5%. It is compatible with next-generation GPUs such as NVIDIA Vera Rubin and native 800V DC AI Factory power supply architectures, possessing mature commercialization and implementation capabilities.

During the exhibition, Sungrow Power's EnerNeo SST also received system-level and key component-level certification certificates based on the UL, IEC, EN, and 2 PfG series standards, issued by the third-party testing and certification agency TUV Rheinland, becoming an SST product that simultaneously passes both European and American standard system-level dual certifications.

It is reported that this certification was conducted on the complete SST machine. TUV Rheinland strictly evaluated the EnerNeo at the system level according to multiple safety and EMC standards. Among them, the core component, the high-frequency isolation transformer, completed a special certification, which can meet the 13.8kV reinforced insulation requirements, ensuring the safety characteristics of the SST.

Entering the NVIDIA ecosystem to exhibit and obtaining system-level certification from authoritative institutions - these two events combined mark that the conditions for the scaled commercialization of Sungrow Power's SST are becoming increasingly sufficient. Notably, from the product launch in July to now, the commercialization progress of Sungrow Power's SST has far exceeded expectations.

On July 9, Sungrow Power announced that the EnerNeo SST is "ready for immediate sale upon launch." On-site, it signed framework procurement agreements totaling over 130MW with Dongyanggguang and ZDATA Group respectively, with deliveries expected to begin in 2026-2027; on the same day, Sungrow Power also jointly established the "Green Token Joint Innovation Center" with Alibaba Cloud, and the two parties will jointly carry out technological innovation, joint verification, and industrialization exploration.

In August, two 2.5MW EnerNeo SST units from Sungrow Power successfully completed a full set of factory acceptance tests and were officially shipped to the site of a major new intelligent computing center project in China. This project will take the lead in realizing the load-bearing operation of the SST 800V DC power supply solution in real computing power scenarios.

In September, Yangguang Yuanzhi was invited to attend Alibaba Cloud's "2026 Apsara Conference" and participated on-site in the "Computing and Power Synergy Joint R&D Cooperation Release" ceremony, launching a new cooperation with Alibaba Cloud.

In less than four months, Sungrow Power's SST layout has become increasingly comprehensive. Behind this series of moves, what is even more noteworthy is the overall changes taking place in the SST industry.

02 What Does the Recognition from NVIDIA and TUV Rheinland Mean for SST?

According to incomplete statistics from "Expert Talk on Third-Generation Semiconductors", more than 30 companies globally have released SST products, but only a few have truly achieved mass production, delivery, and practical application.

From the perspective of industrial development laws, the scaled application of SST cannot be separated from two key conditions:

First, leading manufacturers bring market confidence. Referring to the industrialization process of SiC - Tesla's introduction of SiC in the main drive of Model 3 directly opened the gate for the scaled application of SiC in the electric vehicle market;

Second, the continuous improvement of the reliability system. Also referring to SiC - automotive scenarios require power devices to pass automotive-grade certifications such as AEC-Q101, which has become a prerequisite for SiC entering vehicles; while AIDC scenarios have higher requirements for power supply equipment, which ultimately must also be addressed through the certification and verification system.

At the OCP Summit, NVIDIA's choice to publicly release the list of SST partner manufacturers and TUV Rheinland's promotion of SST system-level certification perfectly respond to these two conditions. Placed in the industry coordinate system, these two moves are not only commercialization milestones for SST manufacturers like Sungrow Power, but also the "two major steps" forward taken by the SST industry.

Step 1: NVIDIA Expands SST Ecosystem List, 800V Data Centers Will Accelerate the Introduction of SST Technology

It is understood that there are now 8 SST companies showcasing in the NVIDIA MGX AI Factory Ecosystem zone this time, namely Delta, Yangguang Yuanzhi, Heron, DG Matrix, Luxshare Precision, Megmeet, SolarEdge, and Zhizhan Technology.

The NVIDIA MGX AI Factory Ecosystem is not a single product, but an open, modular hardware reference architecture and ecosystem built by NVIDIA to cope with the explosive demand for AI computing power. Its core goal is to enable enterprises and cloud service providers to quickly build and scale AI factories from single-node servers to full-rack scale in a "building block" manner.

As an advocate for 800V data centers and SST technology, NVIDIA's introduction of 8 SST companies into the ecosystem this time sends a clear signal to the entire industry chain: SST, as an essential technology for 800VDC power distribution systems, has received official endorsement from the computing power leader and has been included in the construction cooperation blueprint for next-generation AI factories.

This endorsement did not happen overnight. As early as October 2025, NVIDIA disclosed that more than 50 MGX partners were preparing for the Vera Rubin NVL72 system, while over 20 companies were supporting the 800VDC data center ecosystem for gigawatt-scale AI factories, covering chip manufacturers, power supply manufacturers, and power system manufacturers.

In June this year, NVIDIA, together with ecosystem partners such as Google and Microsoft, wrote and released the "Solid State Transformer (SST) Specification v0.3.0", aiming to coordinate ecosystem requirements and accelerate the development of interoperable power conversion solutions suitable for next-generation AI infrastructure.

From jointly formulating specifications to publicly releasing the ecosystem list, NVIDIA is actively promoting the implementation of SST. The deep participation of Google and Microsoft also shows that SST is no longer just NVIDIA's technological bet, but a common choice of the leading computing power camp - as 800V data centers enter the period of scaled deployment, the introduction of SST at the data center end is expected to accelerate comprehensively.

Step 2: Solid State Transformer Obtains System-Level Certification, Reliability Enters the Commercial Threshold

According to a review by "Expert Talk on Third-Generation Semiconductors", currently, some SST enterprises such as Sungrow Power, Eaton, Jinpan Technology, and DG Matrix have successively obtained safety certifications from authoritative institutions such as TUV Rheinland and TUV SUD, and the SST reliability certification system is taking initial shape.

The advancement in certification levels is particularly noteworthy. Previous SST product certifications mostly stayed at the module-level certification and single IEC system level; whereas this time, Sungrow Power has obtained the dual certification of system-level + key component-level, simultaneously covering both the UL (American standard) and IEC/EN (European standard) systems.

Among them, the cTUVus certification is an authoritative certification mark issued by TUV Rheinland in accordance with the US UL and Canadian CSA safety standards, meaning that the product has passed strict safety tests and compliance evaluations, meeting the market access requirements of the North American market, and obtaining a pass to enter the world's largest AI data center market.

This indicates that the safety certification level of SST is steadily rising, and the system-level certification from authoritative institutions is precisely the prerequisite threshold for SST to move from "samples" to "delivery" and achieve large-scale commercialization.

From "usable" to "dared to be used", downstream customers such as AIDC need higher-level safety certifications - it responds not to technical feasibility, but to the core concerns of data centers regarding reliability, safety, and long-term operational certainty. A complete system-level certification is essentially endorsing the commercial trust of SST.

03 Summary by Expert Talk

From an industry perspective, Sungrow Power's entry into the NVIDIA ecosystem and its acquisition of the world's first system-level dual European and American certifications mark that the SST industry has completed a key leap in the two dimensions of ecosystem access and safety certification, and also mean that the commercialization of SST is moving from expectation to reality. For the SiC industry, the rise of SST has also opened a new track. What is worth paying attention to next is: as SST enters the stage of scaled volume production, how SiC devices can keep pace with this rhythm synchronously and achieve synergistic volume growth.
