For years, AR glasses have been touted as the "next-generation computing platform," yet most products still offer only monochromatic green text and wireframe UIs.
This afternoon at the Rokid Jungle 2026 launch event in Hangzhou, ROKID raised this ceiling significantly.
The sole protagonist of the entire event was the Rokid Color—a smart glasses weighing just 55g but equipped with binocular full-color Micro LED display capabilities.
1、55g + Binocular Full Color: No More Trade-offs
In the past, there was an unspoken trade-off in the industry: to achieve full-color display, glasses had to evolve into bulky headsets; to remain wearable for daily use, displays had to revert to monochrome.
Rokid Color aims to end this binary choice.
It achieves binocular full-color display while maintaining a weight (55g) and appearance nearly identical to standard lightweight AI glasses.
Peers who experienced it on-site gave direct feedback: the wearing comfort is similar to ROKID's own non-full-color second-generation products, but the visual experience represents a qualitative leap.
The core component is a ROKID-exclusive custom 0.16cc full-color Micro LED optical engine, supporting a 167% sRGB color gamut with 100% sRGB color coverage.
Beyond specifications, the real difference lies in usage scenarios.
In the era of monochromatic green displays, eyewear UIs were limited to text and wireframes, making images, videos, and games essentially impossible. With full-color implementation, everyday smartphone operations such as scrolling through short videos, previewing photos, and video conferencing now have a viable visual foundation on eyewear for the first time.
In essence, Color's killer feature is not just the term "full color" itself, but the combination of 55g binocular full color. It has secured its position in the niche of lightweight integrated full-color AR glasses; regarding what qualifier should precede "world's first," the spec sheet is more convincing than slogans.
2、Leqi Magic Ring: Shifting Interaction from Fingertips
Full-color display solves the problem of "seeing," but how is interaction addressed? ROKID's answer is to minimize or eliminate hand movement.
Unveiled alongside Color, the Leqi Magic Ring is a touch-controlled ring that supports micro-gestures such as finger rubbing and snapping.
Combined with the temple touchpad, voice commands, and eye tracking on the glasses, ROKID proposes an interaction logic where "the glasses handle display, voice handles explanation, and micro-gestures handle confirmation."
The cleverness of this approach lies in acknowledging the limitations of voice and eye tracking in public settings.
Muttering messages into thin air on the subway or repeatedly focusing eyes on menus are not dignified experiences. A subtle finger rub at one's side to confirm or switch actions is the key step in pulling AR glasses toward "daily wearability."
This ring also features built-in 24-hour health monitoring, capable of measuring heart rate, body temperature, blood oxygen, calories, and sleep index, effectively completing the standard functionality expected in the ring category.
In terms of pricing, the Rokid Color starts at CNY 4,999 (2GB+64GB), with the tortoiseshell high-spec version at CNY 5,499 (4GB+64GB). The Leqi Magic Ring is priced separately at CNY 1,699, with a pre-sale price of CNY 998 for existing users.
However, a reality check is needed: Color will not begin shipping until April 2027. It serves more like a flag planted by ROKID in the technological frontier, showing the industry what the destination of lightweight full-color AR looks like.
3、The Product You Can Buy Today is the Rokid Glasses 2
If Color is about showcasing muscle, the Rokid Glasses 2 is about volume sales. Starting at CNY 3,699, with a post-subsidy price starting at CNY3,199, pre-sales have opened, and official release is scheduled for November 11.
The upgrades in Glasses 2 focus on practicality.
It features a dual-chip architecture combining the Bestechnic BES2800BP and the first-generation Snapdragon AR1 platform, balancing performance and power consumption.
On the imaging side, it includes a 12-megapixel camera. Officially, it debuts the industry's first video ultra-night algorithm, supporting 4K at 30fps, 2K at 60fps, and 720P at 120fps recording. The shutter speed is doubled compared to the previous generation, with the slogan "Flagship-grade imaging enters the first-person perspective for the first time."
In terms of wearing comfort, the opening angle of the flexible temples is 22% larger than the previous generation, claiming no head pressure or ear discomfort. Lens reflectivity is reduced by 70%, rainbow patterns by 60%, and near-sighted users can adapt via magnetic lens frames.
Regarding AI features, Glasses 2 supports AI meeting minutes, AI call translation, and AI memory recall. It also collaborates with Tencent WorkBuddy to launch an AI glasses office agent and partners with Alibaba Qoder to support the Xiao Q agent. Officially, it debuts the industry's first desktop intelligent agent AI glasses connector.
4、One Launch Event, Two Timelines
Viewing Color and Glasses 2 together reveals ROKID's clear strategy today: using Glasses 2 to secure the present and Color to bet on the future.
The former is an iterative product available for pre-order now and entering the market rhythm on November 11; the latter is a technological manifesto shipping in 2027, telling everyone that full-color AR glasses do not need to be bulky headsets.
The launch event also revealed a set of figures: ROKID's AI glasses business already covers 174 countries and 1,330 cities globally.
On the ecosystem front, the previously implemented native taxi-hailing function with Tencent Travel allows users to complete the entire process of hailing, comparing prices, and paying simply by speaking their destination, without needing to take out their phones.
All these preparations point in the same direction: competition in AI glasses is shifting from "can it display" to "what does it display, how is it used, and when can it actually be bought."
Color sets the upper limit for lightweight full-color displays, while Glasses 2 provides the current answer. Whether the arrival of those full-color glasses in 2027 will truly accelerate the AR ecosystem is a story for another day.
