Fenghua Advanced Technology Q3 2026: 470% Profit Surge in Passive Component Upcycle

by zhengquanzhixing·November 3, 2026

When a company's single-quarter profit growth exceeds 470% while its revenue growth is "only" 72%, laypeople see the numbers, but industry insiders see a profit curve steepening rapidly.

Fenghua Advanced Technology (000636)'s 2026 Q3 report is exactly such a performance sheet that invites closer scrutiny: for the first three quarters, revenue reached CNY 5.799 billion, up 41.15% year-on-year; net profit attributable to shareholders was CNY 642 million, up 180.90% year-on-year. Profit growth was more than four times revenue growth. The gap between them reveals structural changes in the operational quality of this established passive component leader.

01、Where Does Profit Elasticity Come From: Not Just "Selling More," But "Selling at Better Value"

Breaking down the income statement, while revenue grew by 41.15%, operating costs only increased by 33.87%. The 7.28 percentage point difference pushed the gross margin from18.60% in the same period last year to 22.80%, an increase of 4.20 percentage points. The company's explanation in the report is straightforward—continued growth in market demand for main products led to increases in both sales volume and unit prices. However, placing this statement in the context of the passive components industry makes it less simple: simultaneous increases in volume and price imply that the supply-demand landscape is tilting in favor of suppliers. As a top domestic manufacturer of MLCCs and chip resistors, Fenghua Advanced Technology sits precisely in the beneficiary position of this upcycle.

The expense side also warrants attention. For the first three quarters, selling expenses rose 23.17% year-on-year, administrative expenses grew 22.97%, and R&D expenses increased 18.64%, all significantly slower than the 41.15% revenue growth rate. The role of economies of scale in diluting fixed costs is becoming evident. Financial expenses showed a slight drag: net financial expenses were -CNY 31.76 million, contributing about CNY 5.48 million less than the -CNY 37.23 million in the same period last year, primarily because interest income dropped from CNY 59.5 million to CNY 53.1 million. Overall, however, the sum of selling, administrative, R&D, and net financial expenses accounted for 9.61% of operating revenue, lower than 10.93% in the same period last year, indicating that the expense ratio continues to decline. This means high profit growth is not propped up by one-off gains—net profit after deducting non-recurring items was CNY 636 million, up 174.14% year-on-year, almost keeping pace with the growth rate of net profit attributable to shareholders, demonstrating that the core engine of this profit release is the main business itself.

Single-quarter data better illustrates the rhythm. In the third quarter alone, net profit attributable to shareholders was CNY 351 million, up 470.17% year-on-year; net profit after deducting non-recurring items was CNY 349 million, up 464.27% year-on-year—the near-coincidence of these two growth rates indicates that this quarter's surge was also not driven by one-off gains or losses. Single-quarter revenue growth was 71.97%, and the profit volume exceeded the combined total of the first two quarters. Even more telling is the gross margin trend: 16.78% in Q1, 20.26% in Q2, and 28.95% in Q3, rising for three consecutive quarters, approximately 9 percentage points higher than the roughly 20% recorded in the same quarter last year. Corroborating this trend is the increase in contract liabilities from CNY 186 million to CNY 313 million, a growth of 67.86%—an increase in advance payments typically signals improving order visibility.

02、Cash Flow and Balance Sheet: The "Unnoticeable" Accounts Are Speaking

Profit is an opinion; cash is fact. Net cash flow from operating activities for the first three quarters was CNY 623 million, up 140.71% year-on-year. While this growth rate is slower than the 180.90% growth in net profit attributable to shareholders, it is clearly faster than the 41.15% revenue growth rate. The net amount equates to 96.7% of net profit for the same period, confirming the "gold content" of the profits. Cash received from selling goods and providing services was CNY 5.199 billion, with a cash collection ratio of approximately 89.7%, slightly lower than 91.0% in the same period last year, indicating that payment collection rhythms remain within normal ranges.

Changes in several balance sheet accounts are particularly interesting. Receivables financing increased from CNY 529 million to CNY 857 million, a rise of 61.98%. The company attributed this to increased receipt of bank acceptance bills due to revenue growth and reduced discounting. In other words, the company is holding more "quasi-cash" without rushing to discount it. However, notes payable also increased from CNY 1.162 billion to CNY 1.594 billion during the same period, a growth of 37.13%. The expansion of bills on both procurement and sales sides suggests a shift towards bill-based settlement rather than just ample liquidity. Inventory rose from CNY 1.023 billion to CNY 1.326 billion, an increase of about 30%, which is lower than the revenue growth rate. Considering strong downstream demand and raw material stocking needs, this level of inventory growth appears more like "stocking up for the next leg" than stagnant accumulation. Construction-in-progress plummeted from CNY 229 million to CNY 96 million, a drop of nearly 58%, corresponding to equipment reaching intended usable status and being transferred to fixed assets—capacity construction is transitioning from the investment phase to the output phase. It should also be noted that this transfer implies depreciation begins entering costs, creating fixed pressure on the income statements for subsequent quarters.

A detail easily overlooked is that other debt investments increased from CNY 293 million to CNY 1.067 billion, while non-current assets due within one year compressed from CNY 489 million to CNY 54 million. The company is replacing short-term maturing certificates of deposit with large-denomination CDs of slightly longer terms. Meanwhile, other non-current assets (time deposits over one year) also increased from CNY 213 million to CNY 519 million, a growth of 143.36%. The overall extension of deposit maturities usually reflects management's comprehensive planning of fund usage rhythms rather than passively leaving funds idle.

03、"Quiet Signals" in the Shareholder List

In the top ten shareholder list, Guangdong Rising Holdings Group holds a stable 23.78% stake as the largest shareholder. The Advanced Manufacturing Industry Investment Fund Phase II under SDIC Capital holds 3.75%, ranking second, and HKSCC Nominees Limited holds 2.87%, ranking third. State-owned industrial capital occupying the top two seats provides a layer of assurance for strategic continuity. Three products under Huashang Fund (Balanced Growth, Advantageous Industries, Zhiyuan Return) collectively hold 3.69%. Caitong Growth Preferred and HFT Double Benefit Enhanced Bond Fund are also listed. The continued presence of public fund institutions is, to some extent, a vote with their feet regarding the company's fundamental trends.

Naturally, there are areas requiring continuous tracking. Credit impairment losses increased from CNY 7.2979 million to CNY 25.5103 million, a year-on-year growth of 249.56%. The company explained this as bad debt provisions increasing alongside the rise in accounts receivable due to revenue growth—a normal companion phenomenon during business expansion, but subsequent payment collection rhythms must remain on the watchlist. Income tax expenses rose 567.22% year-on-year to CNY 79.2583 million, with the effective tax rate increasing from 4.91% in the same period last year to 10.95%. As factors such as prior loss carryforwards are gradually absorbed, the support provided by tax rates to profits will weaken accordingly. Fair value changes of other equity instrument investments in other comprehensive income were -CNY 181 million, reflecting fluctuations in the market value of held financial assets. While this does not affect main business profits, it reminds investors that beyond the income statement, the company holds equity assets susceptible to market volatility.

Two details at the shareholder level are worth comparing with the previous sections: First, among the shares held by Guangdong Rising Holdings Group, 78.534 million shares are pledged. Second, the company announced on October 13 that Guangdong Rising Holdings Group plans to reduce its holdings by no more than 6.8556 million shares, accounting for 0.60% of total share capital, via centralized bidding within three months starting November 4, citing "its own funding arrangements." The announcement clarified that this reduction would not lead to a change in control, but the coexistence of "long-term stationing by state-owned shareholders" and "minor reduction by controlling shareholders" requires readers to consider both aspects in their judgment.

04、Conclusion

Viewing this Q3 report within Fenghua Advanced Technology's recent operational trajectory, it resembles a confirmation signal of an inflection point rather than an isolated highlight. Revenue growth is accelerating, profit elasticity is being released, cash flow is following suit, and capacity construction is switching from input to output—all clues point in the same direction: the company's profit center during the passive components upcycle is rising.

For long-term trackers, more important than the 470% single-quarter profit growth is the cross-validation provided by the near-synchronization of net profit after deducting non-recurring items and net profit attributable to shareholders, along with operating cash flow equivalent to 96.7% of net profit, and the groundwork laid on the balance sheet for the next stage of growth. Numbers speak, and this quarterly report speaks with considerable confidence.
