Enjie Expands Sulfide Solid-State Battery Layout via Partnerships with Enli Power and Gotion High-Tech

by gaogonglidian·February 9, 2026

Summary

Accelerating Industrialization of Solid Electrolyte Membranes Enjie, a leading lithium battery separator manufacturer, has recently announced a string of developments in the solid-state battery sector.

The company disclosed that on January 20, it signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Enli Power, a solid-state battery firm specializing in the sulfide route. Both parties will jointly develop high-performance electrolyte separators adapted for solid-state batteries and establish a normalized collaboration mechanism covering process synergy and product application.

A few days later, Shanghai Enjie, a subsidiary of Enjie, signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Hefei-based Gotion High-Tech. The cooperation focuses on technological synergy for key materials including separators and solid electrolytes. The two sides aim to jointly advance application scenarios such as zero-carbon factories and intelligent mobile energy storage charging piles.

Enjie emphasized in its official announcement that this strategic cooperation does not involve specific product sales, and follow-up transactions will be governed by separate specific contracts.

These two agreements further complete Enjie’s solid-state battery layout: on one hand, it co-develops electrolyte separators and adapts to solid-state processes alongside solid-state battery developers; on the other hand, it collaborates with mainstream battery manufacturers to advance material systems and application scenarios, seeking to extend R&D synergy to demonstration and commercial rollout.

The "Foundation" of Solid-State Layout: From Separators to Sulfide Electrolytes and Electrolyte Membranes

When it comes to solid-state battery materials, Enjie’s key disclosures over the past year are not limited to separators, and have expanded into the sulfide system’s key material supply chain.

The company once stated on an interactive platform that its holding subsidiary has developed products including all-solid-state high-purity lithium sulfide, sulfide solid electrolytes, and sulfide solid electrolyte membranes. Among them, the pilot production line for high-purity lithium sulfide has started batch shipments. Meanwhile, the Yuxi base is building a thousand-ton pilot project for all-solid-state electrolytes.

According to prior reports, the Yuxi project will be constructed in phases with total investment of approximately 250 million RMB. The company also noted that its 10-ton sulfide solid electrolyte pilot line has entered equipment commissioning. The firm aims to capture the mass production window for sulfide solid electrolyte materials following the roadmap of "small-scale verification - pilot scale-up - scaled-up production line."

Orders and Cooperation Network: Locking in Framework Volumes First, Then System Adaptation

On the customer and partnership front, Enjie previously signed a procurement framework agreement with Beijing WeLion New Energy. Between 2025 and 2030, WeLion plans to place orders for no less than 300 million square meters of electrolyte separators for semi-solid and all-solid-state batteries, plus no less than 100 tons of all-solid-state battery electrolytes. Under the agreement, 80% of WeLion’s required material procurement share will go to Shanghai Enjie and its affiliates.

When combining this framework supply deal with the two newly signed strategic cooperations, Enjie’s strategy appears to transfer its manufacturing and coating strengths built in traditional wet-process separator production to new material forms — electrolyte membranes — used in solid-state systems. At the same time, it extends upstream into lithium sulfide and sulfide solid electrolytes to strengthen its bargaining power and barriers within the solid-state industry chain.

At present, what the market can confirm mainly covers cooperation directions, production line progress and framework agreements. For the two latest strategic cooperations, neither side has disclosed specific procurement volumes, pricing terms or delivery timelines. Subsequent execution progress remains to be validated by concrete orders and project advancement.
