On October 20, Zhidx reported that today, AI maternal and infant technology company Buddy Buzzy unveiled three AI smart hardware products: the Qiuzhi 3 AI Child Safety Seat, the Ori Ring, and the FreeAir AI Hands-Free Breast Pump.
The three products target children's travel, women's health, and breastfeeding scenarios, respectively. Among them, the Qiuzhi 3 AI Child Safety Seat is equipped with a dedicated AI large model for children, supporting natural language dialogue and voice cloning, and can automatically adjust ventilation and heating according to environmental changes; the Ori Ring focuses on health monitoring during women's menstrual cycles, pregnancy preparation, and pregnancy and postpartum periods, supporting pregnancy file management; the FreeAir AI Hands-Free Breast Pump allows mothers to use the device without holding it all the time by redesigning the milk extraction structure and adding App smart control.
The launch of these three new products is also the latest move by Buddy Buzzy to expand its smart maternal and infant product line. The Buddy Buzzy brand has a history of about 7 years, initially focusing on children's safety seats as its core business, and subsequently expanding into categories such as baby carriers and growth chairs. Its founder Wang Yong has about 7 years of experience in internet products and has been an entrepreneur in the field of children's safety seats since 2015.
Currently, Buddy Buzzy is headquartered in Hangzhou, with its product R&D team mainly distributed in Shenzhen. About 50% of the team members are engaged in engineering technology and product R&D. On this occasion, Buddy Buzzy also disclosed the company's latest operational status: as of the first half of 2026, its GMV increased by 200% year-on-year, and it has entered over 1,800 stores nationwide.
In terms of financing, Buddy Buzzy recently completed its Series B+ funding round, with a cumulative financing of over CNY 200 million and a current business scale of about CNY 300 million. It plans to launch its Series C funding round at the end of this year, with a business scale target of about CNY 500 million in 2027, and plans to sprint for an IPO on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange in 2028. In terms of production and manufacturing, the total investment of Buddy Buzzy's super smart factory project located in Fuyang, Hangzhou, is about CNY 200 million, with a target annual production capacity of 500,000 units. The factory has completed construction and plans to start the production line in November this year.
01.Child Safety Seat Equipped with Children's AI Large Model Can Tell Stories in Parents' Voices and Automatically Control Temperature
Among the three products, the Qiuzhi 3 AI Child Safety Seat stands out with its more prominent AI interaction capabilities. The Qiuzhi 3 AI Child Safety Seat is equipped with a dedicated AI large model for children aged 0 to 8, enabling communication with children through natural language. Unlike traditional voice control that can only execute fixed commands, the AI function of this child safety seat supports open-ended dialogue.
Parents can directly say, 'Buzzy Buzzy, tell the child a story,' and the seat will call the AI model to generate the corresponding content. The product also adds a voice cloning function, which can use the parents' voices to tell stories to the child, allowing the child to hear familiar voices even when sitting alone in the back seat.
The AI can also answer some daily questions. If a child asks the AI, 'How are rainbows formed?', the AI in the seat can explain the principle of sunlight being refracted and reflected by water droplets to produce rainbows. This AI interaction capability supports internet connectivity and OTA upgrades, allowing continuous updates to the model's capabilities in the future.
In addition to voice interaction, Qiuzhi 3 also introduces AI into some operational links of traditional child safety seats. For example, the AI smart welcome function can sense the opening of the car door and automatically rotate the seat, making it convenient for parents to hold the child into the cabin. In terms of temperature control, the product can monitor environmental changes inside the cabin and automatically adjust ventilation or heating, reducing the frequency of manual operations by parents.
However, for child safety seats, basic safety protection remains the core. The Qiuzhi 3 AI Child Safety Seat has obtained the German E1 i-Size certification and the China 3C certification, and is equipped with a smart side protection structure. When the vehicle encounters a side collision, the relevant side protection devices can assist in buffering the impact through a pop-up structure.
Another feature is the child left-behind alarm. The Qiuzhi 3 AI Child Safety Seat provides a triple reminder mechanism of in-car light display, App notification, and manual phone calls, attempting to reduce the risk of children being left in the car. In terms of comfort, this child safety seat supports a maximum recline angle of 170° and 8-level adjustment, covering children with a height of 40cm to 150cm, and is equipped with a detachable sleep pad and a dual ventilation design for the cabin and sleep pad.
02.A 6.1mm Smart Ring Focuses on Women's Physical Changes from Pregnancy Preparation to Postpartum
The second product, the Ori Ring, applies AI to women's health monitoring scenarios. The Ori Ring launched by Buddy Buzzy this time provides continuous data recording and analysis around stages such as the menstrual cycle, pregnancy preparation, pregnancy, and postpartum. The Ori Ring adopts a slim 6.1mm ring body design, collects body data through micro sensors, and combines algorithms to provide references for women's physiological cycles and fertile windows. In daily use, this ring can monitor indicators such as sleep, heart rate, and stress, and record changes related to the menstrual cycle.
The on-site product manager introduced that within different physiological cycles, data such as body temperature and sleep may show subtle fluctuations. By continuously collecting data through hardware and then combining it with algorithms for analysis, the Ori Ring can provide users with physiological cycle predictions. After entering the pregnancy preparation stage, the system can combine long-term body data to provide ovulation prompts and fertile window references. During pregnancy, the product's functions are even richer. For example, in the early stage of pregnancy, users can check information such as gestational weeks and expected due dates; in the middle stage, prenatal check-up reports can be archived, and fetal movements can be recorded; in the late stage, it supports contraction recording, expected due date countdown, and exercise suggestions. Postpartum, the system can also continuously track physical changes and provide recovery-related suggestions.
During the on-site introduction, Buddy Buzzy also mentioned the idea of using AI to assist in understanding pregnancy check-up data. For pregnant mothers, reports generated from multiple prenatal check-ups often contain different indicators. If this information can be combined with daily sleep and physiological change records, it will be more convenient to review physical conditions and provide references for doctors during medical visits.
However, these data and the analysis results generated by AI still belong to auxiliary health management information and cannot replace professional medical examinations and diagnoses. In terms of hardware design, the Ori Ring has also made some adjustments for women's needs for long-term wear. The ring is made of hypoallergenic stainless steel, available in colors such as silver and rose gold, has a battery life of about 7 days for a single ring, and supports 50-meter water resistance. Considering that some women may experience finger swelling during pregnancy and the original ring size may no longer be suitable, Buddy Buzzy has also launched the Care+ pregnancy ring replacement service.
Another design is offline recording. Users can proactively turn off the ring's wireless communication function, allowing data to be temporarily stored in the device and synchronized later. When real-time connection to a mobile phone is not needed, users can still continuously record body data for a period of time.
03.Breast Pump Reduced to 241 Grams: Wireless and Hands-Free, with App Remote Control
The third product, the FreeAir AI Hands-Free Breast Pump, solves the problem of mothers holding the device for a long time. FreeAir integrates the pump and the milk collection cup into a single structure, eliminating the need for external long tubes, and can be directly placed in the bra for use.
Its single-side weight is 241 grams, the noise at the maximum working gear is about 53 decibels, and the number of accessories is streamlined to 4 pieces. Buddy Buzzy referred to a breast morphometry study covering 605 Chinese women to redesign the size and internal curves of traditional breast pump flanges. Specifically, FreeAir adjusts the milk duct depth to 16.01mm, which is about 25% shorter than the referenced European and American one-size-fits-all design, and adopts a three-section inner wall curve to improve fit.
Considering the physical differences of different users, in addition to the 24mm flange, the product also provides silicone inserts in three sizes: 17mm, 19mm, and 21mm. In terms of milk extraction methods, FreeAir adopts a bionic micro-vibration pulse design, attempting to simulate the rhythm changes when a baby sucks. The maximum suction of the product reaches 280mmHg, providing four modes: stimulation, massage, milk extraction, and automatic. Among them, the stimulation mode adopts a short and fast suction rhythm; the milk extraction mode adopts a relatively long and slow rhythm; the automatic mode can switch between stimulation and milk extraction, reducing the operation difficulty for novice users. Each mode also supports multi-level adjustment, and users can choose suitable parameters according to their comfort level.
This time, FreeAir has also added the App smart control function. Users can remotely start and stop the device, adjust the suction gear, and switch the milk extraction mode through their mobile phones. For example, at night or when hands are inconvenient to operate, users can directly modify the device settings in the App without repeatedly fumbling with the buttons on the body. In terms of recording, the system can save usage data such as milk extraction duration and mode, and users can also manually enter the amount of milk extracted each time to generate periodic feeding records and trend information. The product also supports personalized mode memory. After users set the suction gear and rhythm suitable for themselves, they can directly call it up the next time they use it without readjusting.
04.Conclusion: AI Maternal and Infant Hardware Still Needs to Pass the Test of Long-Term Use
Looking at these three AI hardware products, a noteworthy change is that AI is entering segmented life scenarios that have received less attention from the technology industry in the past. These scenarios place high demands on the safety, comfort, stability, and ease of use of products. For maternal and infant hardware, making parents willing to use it every day and assured to use it for a long time is the real problem that AI needs to solve to truly enter parenting life.
