At 19:40 on October 14, the Zhuque-2 carrier rocket Improved Y4 carrier rocket ignited and lifted off from the LandSpace Technology liquid oxygen-methane carrier rocket launch pad at the Dongfang Commercial Space Innovation Pilot Zone, successfully sending 10 satellites into their predetermined orbits, including Adaspace's Xing Shidai-39, Xing Shidai-44 to 50, as well as Lanta Zhineng's Guangchuan-03 and Guangchuan-04.
"Xing Suan" Plan Leads in On-Orbit Computing Power Scale
AI computing satellites are regarded by the industry as another large-scale constellation following low-orbit internet constellations. The China Academy of Information and Communications Technology predicts that the global space computing power industry will enter a period of rapid development from 2026 to 2030, with the market size expected to exceed 100 billion U.S. dollars by 2030.
The eight computing satellites of the second group launched into orbit this time were independently developed by Adaspace. Equipped with high-performance computing payloads, high-speed inter-satellite/satellite-to-ground laser communication payloads, and micro-light cameras, they will conduct on-orbit verification of key technologies such as 10,000-watt-class liquid cooling fluid loops, ultra-large deployable radiator wings, global laser communication networks, and on-orbit training of foundational large models.
Currently, the 12 satellites of the first group of the "Xing Suan" plan have been operating stably in orbit for over a year, making it the world's first truly operational space computing constellation. The launch of the second group of satellites signifies that the "Xing Suan" plan is moving towards "large-scale deployment," continuously leading in the scale of on-orbit computing power.
It is understood that the first group of satellites was jointly developed by Adaspace and Zhijiang Laboratory. The maximum computing power of a single satellite reaches 744 TOPS, the maximum inter-satellite laser communication rate is 100 Gbps, and the on-orbit computing capability after networking reaches 5 POPS. After on-orbit testing, the constellation has formed four core capabilities: networking, computing, model deployment, and scientific payload verification. AI models such as the 8-billion-parameter space-based remote sensing model have been deployed in orbit.
In November 2025, Adaspace also successfully deployed the Qwen3 large model to the space computing center of the first group of the "Xing Suan" plan. This marks the world's first time a general large model has been uploaded from the ground to satellites operating in orbit, achieving on-orbit deployment.
According to the plan, the "Xing Suan" plan is expected to complete the networking and commercialization of a thousand-satellite scale by 2030, with over 95% being inference computing satellites, while also completing the on-orbit verification of ultra-large-scale training computing satellites. Before 2035, the full networking will be completed to achieve the computing capability to serve hundreds of millions of silicon-based intelligent agents, providing space computing power services for the inference and training of silicon-based intelligent agents across land, sea, air, and space, as well as AI models.
Notably, the Guangchuan-03 and 04 satellites carried on the same rocket are a new generation of laser data transmission test satellites developed by Lanta Zhineng for key satellite networking technologies. They focus on specialized on-orbit verification of core technologies such as highly integrated spaceborne processing units, large-aperture high-speed laser communication, and laser routing integrated communication modules, continuously improving the technical system for large-scale networking scenarios. The Guangchuan-01 and 02 satellites launched in 2024 have been operating stably in orbit for nearly two years, achieving the country's first on-orbit inter-satellite 400 Gbps ultra-high-speed laser communication.
LandSpace Technology Gains Another Plus for Its IPO
Currently, low-orbit networking and space-based computing power verification have entered a stage of parallel advancement, and the batch delivery capability of commercial rockets is becoming a key variable in the pace of constellation construction.
This launch marks the 10th flight of the Zhuque-2 series carrier rockets and the first time LandSpace Technology has sent computing satellites into space. It verifies the support capability of the Zhuque-2 carrier rocket Improved for new space infrastructure such as computing constellations, which is a solid plus for its SSE STAR Market IPO.
It is introduced that the Zhuque-2 carrier rocket Improved is a two-stage cryogenic liquid rocket using liquid oxygen and methane propellants, with a payload capacity of 6 tons to low Earth orbit and 4 tons to a 500-kilometer sun-synchronous orbit. The Zhuque-2 series has already executed tasks such as rideshare for small and medium satellites, networking of national-level satellite internet constellations, and deployment of medium and large satellites.
LandSpace Technology stated that it will continue to promote the normalized commercial launches of the Zhuque-2 carrier rocket Improved and the engineering reuse verification of the Zhuque-3. Through Lanta Zhineng, it will layout key satellite networking capabilities, further strengthen the synergy between satellite and rocket technologies, expand comprehensive service capabilities for satellite internet construction, and steadily improve the ability to enter space stably and efficiently, providing support for China's satellite internet construction and the scaled development of commercial aerospace in the future.
