1000V High-Voltage Vehicle Platform: 15 Global Automakers Deploy Layout, 1400V SiC Chips Achieve Mass Production in 2026

by hangjiashuosandaiban·September 16, 2026

In 2026, the 1000V high-voltage platform has become a new battleground for automakers.

Recently, a survey by 'Expert Talk on Third-Generation Semiconductors' found that at least 15 automakers and electric drive companies, including BYD, Geely, NIO, Xiaomi, Leapmotor, and GAC, are collectively sprinting towards the kilovolt architecture, promoting the scaled mass production of 1000V high-voltage platforms.

The 1000V platform typically requires 1400V-1500V SiC MOSFETs, and currently, many silicon carbide (SiC) companies are developing high-voltage devices. Recently, the 1400V SiC products jointly developed by AccoPower semiconductor (AccoPower) and AscenPower have achieved mass production and vehicle integration, and have been equipped in multiple high-end new energy vehicle (NEV) models.

15 Automakers Deploy 1000V Platforms AccoPower/AscenPower 1400V SiC Has Achieved Mass Production and Vehicle Integration

According to incomplete statistics from 'Expert Talk on Third-Generation Semiconductors', as of now, a total of more than 10 automakers have deployed 1000V automotive platforms and introduced related models to achieve scaled mass production (for details, please refer to the second part).

Upstream electric drive manufacturers such as Inovance, Zhixin Technology (Shenzhen Zhixin New Information Technology Co., Ltd), INVT, EZ-DRIVE, and Jingwei Hirain have also successively launched 1000V electric drive products (for details, please refer to the second part).

From the actions of the above manufacturers, it can be seen that 800V has gradually become the mainstream for NEVs, while 1000V is the commanding height of the next-generation automotive platform. Combined with SiC technology, 1000V can reduce current, minimize losses and wiring harness weight at the same power level, and compress the 10%-80% energy replenishment time to 5-10 minutes, achieving parity with ICE refueling speeds.

In addition, while 800V high-voltage technology mainly focuses on accelerating energy replenishment and enhancing performance for passenger cars, this round of 1000V technology iteration completely breaks through scenario limitations. Automakers and electric drive companies are no longer just deploying for passenger cars, but are simultaneously focusing on high-power commercial scenarios such as heavy-duty trucks, construction machinery, industrial vehicles, and ships.

As the automotive bus platform voltage increases, SiC MOSFETs also need to be upgraded in voltage. Typically, 800V automotive platforms mainly adopt 1200V SiC MOSFETs and modules. However, according to AscenPower, 1200V SiC MOSFET modules are difficult to adapt to the electric drive systems of 1000V high-voltage platforms. This is because, under the operating condition where the maximum bus voltage reaches 1000V when the vehicle is fully charged, 1200V SiC modules will frequently approach their voltage withstand limit, keeping the system in a critical design state for a long time. For 900V and above voltage platforms, SiC MOSFETs and modules with a rated voltage of 1400V or 1500V can provide reliable safety guarantees for NEVs.

To meet the scaled demand for 900V and above high-voltage electric drive platforms, some leading SiC companies have been collaborating with automakers and electric drive companies to develop 1400V and above silicon carbide products for a long time, including AccoPower and AscenPower.

According to introductions, the second-generation silicon carbide (SiC) chips of AccoPower and AscenPower take 1400V as the native design target, and have recently achieved breakthroughs in mass production and vehicle integration.

On September 14, AccoPower announced that the second-generation 1400V SiC main drive chips and power modules jointly developed with AscenPower have officially achieved scaled mass production, and have been mass-produced and integrated into multiple electric drive platforms, successfully equipping multiple high-end NEV models.

According to introductions, the actual breakdown voltage typical value of the second-generation SiC chips from AccoPower and AscenPower is about 1700V, the cumulative high-temperature bias stress test reaches 2000 hours, and the specific on-resistance is reduced by another 29% compared to the previous generation.

At the same time, in terms of packaging, relying on its self-developed high-end module packaging technology and complete packaging and testing capabilities, AccoPower forms a two-way empowerment with AscenPower's chip design and manufacturing, effectively reducing stray inductance and thermal resistance, and significantly decreasing switching losses under high-frequency operating conditions.

AccoPower further revealed that, in addition to the 1400V second-generation chips mass-produced and delivered this time, the third-generation full-series chips jointly developed by both parties have been designated by multiple automakers for their main drive projects.

As of now, AccoPower and AscenPower have jointly completed the R&D of two generations of automotive-grade SiC chips and achieved mass production and vehicle integration. The specific time nodes are as follows:

In mid-2025, both parties achieved batch vehicle integration and mass production of the first-generation silicon carbide (SiC) chips, laying the technical and market foundation for the scaled deployment of the second-generation 1400V SiC chips;

In May 2026, AscenPower's second-generation 1400V SiC MOSFET main drive chip + AccoPower's power module completed the 'chip + module' test assessment, received customer design wins, and entered small-batch delivery;

In September 2026, AccoPower and AscenPower transformed the second-generation 1400V SiC product solution into scaled mass production results as scheduled.
